Sumartin is located 3 kilometers east of Selce.
There are 480 inhabitants in Sumartin, mostly living of tourism, growing olives
and vineyards. The settlement was founded in 1645, and it was inhabitated by
citizens of Makarska Riviera, while fleein from the Turcs. Sumartin is also a
port that connects the island of Brac with Makarska on the mainland. It is also
a marina for small and medium yachts. The accommodation can be found in private
apartments and rooms. Cultural and historic sights that you should visit are
the Franciscian Monastery and the St martin church. Another interesting thing
of this place is that the locals speak in «stokavski» dialect, while the rest
of the island uses «cakavski» dialect. Magnificent nature and the beauty of the
