Postira is a small tourist settlement located on the
northern side of the island of Brac, and only 9 kilometers from Supetar. There
are about 1,300 inhabitants living in Postira, and they live from viticulture,
growing olives and from tourism. This place was mentioned for the first time in
1347. Postira was also the birthplace of the great Croatian writer Vladimir
Nazor. In the Lovrecica Bay there are remains of the big early-Christian
basilica that was built in the 5th and 6th century. The rich tourist offering
of this place lets you find accomodation in one of the hotels, private
apartments and rooms. For those who prefer active vacation there are numerous
sport fields: football, basketball, tennis, and water sports like diving and
sailing. This place is the paradise destination for tourists who want to spend
a quiet family vacation. We recommend you to visit other places on this
