Sutivan (island Brac, Croatia)

Sutivan is located on the northern side of the island of Brac, opposite Split. It is 7 kilometers away from Supetar, and it has around 640 inhabitants, mostly living from tourism, growing olives and vineyards. The settlement was founded in the 15th century on the location where there was a shrine of St Ivan – and the name of the settlement derived from the name of the shrine. The church of St Rok is on the cemetery, and was built in 1635. Sutivan is well known for its beautiful beaches, hiking paths and cycling paths, and sport fields. In this lovely village guests can find accommodation in private villas, apartments and rooms, and kind hosts will offer you local home-made specialties. Every year in july there is a sport event called «Vanka regula» which traslates as «out of rules». It is a festival of extreme sports and it is interesting to both contestants and audience – the response is always very big. We recommend you to visit other places on this magnificent island – Supetar, Sumartin,  Splitska,  Selca, Postira, Povlja, Pucisca, Milna, Bol, Mirca, Murvica and Nerezisca.
